(from Kicherer Press
Release) Even ex-works the new CLS 500 Coupé is not short
of power. With 408 Ps and 600 Nm torque it is after the C 63 AMG the
currently most powerful mass-produced car that the group can offer
its customers.
Those who like it a
touch more dynamic can turn to the traditional fine-tuner KICHERER
in Stockach. Engineers, technicians and designers have taken on the
elegant CLS and accentuated its sportiness both from a technical and
a visual point of view.
By means of a software
update and a sports exhaust system the performance of the V8 biturbo
engine was increased by around 62 Ps and 90 Newton metres. To help
the 470 horsepower get straight to work an original KICHERER
PowerConverter (with an E certificate of conformity) was mounted in
the vehicle. The accelerator pedal thus reacts almost immediately to
the driver's commands. Both ear and eye can delight in many ways in
a beautiful exhaust system at the rear of the vehicle. On the one
hand even the ex-works end pipes are convincing with a modern,
almost rectangular design and on the other hand the KICHERER sports
exhaust system behind it produces a sportily exciting but still
discrete V8 sound.
The elegant side-view of
the coupé is perfected by the sportily filigree, hand-made KICHERER
RS-1 20 inch forged wheels - behind which one can easily imagine the
power of the 6 and 4 piston high performance braking system.
With its compound discs
and the flexible stainless steel hoses this ensures the appropriate
negative acceleration for the performance is produced. The noble
interior complements the overall appearance of the KICHERER CLS and
been refitted to the highest quality with interior elements and door
sills in piano lacquer. The chassis was refurbished to match the
exterior character of the car with a HighEnd Foliation in matte
black and carbon.
A successful package,
for one of the probably most exciting four-door vehicles of its
class - Individual, discrete and still sporty.
