(from Brabus Press
Release) BRABUS Viano “Lounge Concept”: The Exclusive
Office on Wheels
The exclusive office and movie theater on wheels equipped with
state-of-the-art entertainment technology: With the BRABUS Viano
“Lounge Concept” BRABUS (www.brabus.com)
demonstrates how to transform the Mercedes van into a luxurious and
powerful multi-use vehicle.
The BRABUS interior designers have developed an innovative concept
with classy ambiance for the rear compartment of the Viano: Two
power comfort seats provide maximum comfort for both rear
passengers. Similar to long-distance flights in business class both
seats can be reclined to full sleeping position at the push of a
button. The seats are upholstered with especially soft and
breathable leather.
The two custom seats are separated by a center console made from a
fancy combination of fine leather and bamboo, a combination that
continues throughout the van’s interior. The console houses the
controls for the rear climate control system and the controller for
the COMAND MMI system from the Mercedes S-class that operates the
entire multimedia system.
A 32-inch electrically deployed LCD screen is integrated into the
partition wall behind the front seats. It serves as monitor for the
computer system with Sony Vaio notebook and Wireless LAN network for
connecting additional notebooks to the on-board network and for
connecting to the internet via UMTS. A Sony Playstation 3 game
console plays Blu-ray movies and games such as the racing simulator
Gran Turismo 5 in stunning clarity on the big screen, which can also
display the images from the digital TV tuner. The large screen can
also be used in split-screen mode to simultaneously monitor the
images from the various external cameras.
The audio signals of the various sources are carried in highest
perfection Dolby Surround by a sound system custom-designed for the
Viano.
The equipment of the customized Viano can be completed with an
exclusive mobile phone. The Vertu Constellation weighs just
140 grams (5 oz.) and features quad-band technology for use in 180
countries across the world. The housing is made from a fancy
combination of stainless steel, scratch-proof sapphire glass and the
same supple leather that covers the Viano Lounge interior.
BRABUS also provides on-board refreshments: A generously dimensioned
refrigerator is part of the exclusive ‘Lounge Concept” equipment of
the BRABUS Viano as is a ‘Nespresso’ coffee maker of the latest
generation.
The electrically retractable partition window provides privacy in
the rear at the push of a button. Numerous integrated storage
compartments keep the rear passengers’ carry-on items safe. For
transporting bodyguards or other personnel there are electrically
deployed emergency seats opposite the comfort seats. They also house
a safe and additional storage compartments.
The elegant BRABUS designer suit for the exterior of the Viano sets
it apart from the rest. The BRABUS front apron features two round
fog lamps and two Xenon high beams. It gives the Viano more passing
clout and reduces lift on the front axle for even better directional
stability at high speed.
Understated fender flares on front and rear axle make room for
stunning BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters of 18 or
19 inches. The most exclusive version features size 8.5Jx19 wheels
with size 255/40 R 19 tires. In this size customers can choose
either the fully polished Monoblock S design or the Monoblock Q
wheel in a striking two-tone combination of titanium-colored paint
and polished surfaces.
BRABUS rocker panels with integrated LED entrance lights for safe
entering and exiting of the vehicle and the BRABUS rear apron with
its custom-tailored cutout for the stainless-steel BRABUS sport
exhaust are also part of the exclusive BRABUS look.
To further improve active driving safety of the multi-use vehicle
without sacrificing ride comfort the BRABUS suspension engineers
have developed special sport springs matched to the production
shocks. They lower the ride height of the Viano with conventional
and with air suspension by some 25 millimeters (1.0 inches) on the
front axle and by some 20 millimeters (0.8 inches) in the rear.
BRABUS also offers powerful engines for the Viano “Lounge Concept”
backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years,
up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (see BRABUS warranty
conditions, as of November 2006)
The BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6 (III) power kit increases power output
of the V6 common-rail turbodiesel engine of the Viano 3.0 CDI by 38
hp (38 bhp) / 28 kW and torque by 60 Nm (44 lb-ft). Performance of
the Viano benefits accordingly: The tuned van sprints from rest to
100 km/h (62 mph) in just 8.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 208
km/h (129 mph).
For the top-of-the-line Viano 3.5 model BRABUS offers the BRABUS 4.0
displacement engine with 318 hp (314 bhp) / 234 kW and a peak torque
of 410 Nm (302 lb-ft) at 4,200 rpm.
The stainless-steel BRABUS sport rear muffler is available for all
Viano models and gives the van not only a sporty exhaust note but
also a more attractive rear appearance.
The special model Viano V8 from BRABUS delivers true high
performance. The Viano V8 is powered by a BRABUS 6.1 eight-cylinder
displacement engine with 426 hp (418 bhp) / 313 kW at 5,400 rpm and
a peak torque of 621 Nm (458 lb-ft) at 4,100 rpm and offers driving
fun on the highest level. With a sprint time of 5.9 seconds
from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) and an electronically limited top
speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) the BRABUS Viano V8 is one of the
world’s fastest vans.
