(from Wildcat Press
Release) Born with the offroad pedigree of the Wildcat
comes the new 300STR. Designed not only to treat the roughest
terrain with contempt but also to have the poise of a sports coupé,
the Wildcat 300STR is in a league of its own. A crossover vehicle to
beat all crossover vehicles.
The 300STR can be equipped with such creature comforts as air
conditioning and even a space to take your golf clubs.
When the Wildcat was tested by Richard Hammond and the 'Stig' on the
Top Gear, the car’s adaptability really shone through and following
a period of intense R & D, this new model offers both on and off
road performance. Giving the driver a unique opportunity to own a
car that is at home in the City of London as it is in the deserts of
Morocco.
Based around a lightweight tubular chassis, the 300STR encompasses
all of the racing heritage that the Wildcat possesses to provide the
discerning driver with a positive road driving experience. The
rigidity of the space-frame construction gives a taught positive
feel to the driver.
The body is manufactured from composite fibre glass giving it a
highly durable corrosion resistant finish in a wide choice of
colours with wildcat graphics pack.
The 300STR series car is powered by a 4.0 litre Rover V8 developing
over 270 BHP, its smooth power delivery and robust design matching
the Wildcat’s characteristics perfectly.
The transmission is a five speed synchromesh gearbox with a two
speed transfer box, the system providing both smooth road
performance and extreme offroad performance.
The 300STR is equipped with 300mm long travel remote reservoir
dampers with specially wound coil springs designed to match. This
gives the car poise and presence on the road whilst being able to
absorb really tough terrain offroad.
Steering is power assisted with a chassis mounted steering damper
fitted to absorb any steering forces fed back from the roughest
terrain.
Stopping is dealt with using a powerful servo assisted braking
system coupled to large disc brakes front and rear.
The interior is fitted out with a wipe-clean sound deadening
headliner and side panels, cosseting the driver in this extreme
machine. The carbon style dash top adds style to the interior,
complemented by the purpose built SPA analogue dash system, giving
the driver all the key information he needs whilst at the wheel of
this unique car. The heated windscreen and two speed powerful wipers
keep the view of the road even in the worst conditions. Air
conditioning is available as an option.
