German manufacturer NAP Sports Exhaust has created this new exhaust system with 20% less exhaust backpressure than the stock system yielding a power output gain of 13 hp. The wider exhaust uses 100 mm diameter pipes rather than the 85 mm diameter tubing found in the stock Mustang.

This car also showcases 21" NAP alloy wheels with 255/30ZR21 up front and 295/25ZR21 in the rear.

(from NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur GmbH Press Release) NAP Sports Exhaust for the Ford Mustang 5.0 V

Acquired in 2014 by Dipl.-Ing. Christian Lübke, NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur GmbH proudly presents their complete sports exhaust system for the Ford Mustang 5.0 V8, the most popular new US high-performance car in Europe.

Their first major project since the change of ownership, NAP’s engineers used a combination of advanced CAD programme and years of experience to design and optimise this sports exhaust system, which carries full German TUV and EC type approvals.

While other aftermarket exhaust manufacturers offer sports rear silencers for the Mustang, NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur GmbH, based in Bad Bentheim, Germany, is the only company to develop a complete exhaust system.

To optimise backpressure, the NAP engineers opted for an enlarged pipe diameter of 70mm throughout, and added a bespoke X-Pipe to smoothen out the exhaust gas pulses of the bent-crank V8. The only other company to offer an X-Pipe configuration exhaust for the Mustang 5.0 V8 is Ford Racing, but their system does not have the TUV certification required in Germany.

Fabricated from high quality V2A and V4A stainless steel, where the standard exhaust uses 85 mm diameter tubing, the NAP engineers opted for 100 mm diameter pipes.

Their exit pipes feature double skinned tips rolled and welded to create an internal air gap that shields the outer skin from the most extreme heat. This allows the NAP sports exhaust system to maintain a high-quality appearance over its entire life, which is significantly greater than the OE system.

To many customers, the soundtrack is the most important thing in a sport exhaust system, and here the NAP Manufactory sport exhaust scores with a deep, sonorous V8 burble in the engines lower speed range. At high revs, its aggressive singing voice comes through loud and clear to both occupants and bystanders alike.

In empirical terms, the exhaust backpressure is reduced around 20% over the stock system, and this is quantified by a gain of about 13hp on the engine dynamometer.

The NAP Manufactory sport exhaust is designed to be a straight swap for the OE system, and is new easily accomplished through the mounting of two exhaust clamps.

For the individualist who wants to give his car an even more personal touch, NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur GmbH offers bespoke 21-inch alloy wheels shod with 255/30ZR21 and 295/25ZR21 tyres.
